Hi, welcome to my website! You can call me Rik, and I’d like to introduce you to my first novel. I’m trying to follow the Publisher’s advice to bring my book to people’s attention, so I sent the following paragraph to the Editor of The Moor Magazine, which is a publication for the Four Heatons area of Stockport in Cheshire. The magazine is a great resource for staying connected with what’s happening in the Four Heatons community by providing a platform for sharing local news, events, and stories over a wide range of topics. Anyway, I sent them this description of my book: This is a racy crime story following Karen Spencer, an investigator with the Plasmid Control Commission, on her first solo field mission as she identifies exotic microbes that have been genetically engineered to produce LSD into their culture broths. There are brewing yeasts that enable the bad guys to make beer spiked with homemade LSD, and bacteria engineered to transfer LSD-synthesis to every other bacterium in a person’s body. The bad guys can make some lethal live yogurt with them! Karen pursues those who created and used these genetically engineered microbes. And while she is chasing them down, a greater mischief is being played out in the deep North Atlantic.
